Bethesda Transportation Solutions helps Bethesda Commuters and Residents alike experience several bike events that happen in Bethesda and beyond.  Biking is a clean, fun and healthy way to get around. 

Bike Donation Drive October 3, 2025

On Friday, October 3, 2025, Montgomery County's Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will once again sponsor a bike collection drive during this year's Community Service Month.

Donated child / adult bikes and bike parts will be accepted from 7:00am to 2:00pm on Friday, October 3, 2025. (No bike helmets, please)

Donations will go to the Rockville Bike Hub, a non-profit organization whose volunteers refurbish the bikes and give them to low-income residents throughout the County, through Rockville's Terrific Kids, Bikes For The World and MCDOT's Bike Match MoCo programs. Residents may also donate by check to the Rockville Bike Hub during the bicycle collection event. All donated funds will be used to purchase bike helmets and parts to repair the bikes.

Bike Match Montgomery County

Have a bicycle that you'd like to donate? Need a bike to commute? Montgomery County has a Bike Match program. You can see details on their website HERE. MCDOT also organizes Bike Donation events in Rockville.

National Bike Month & Bike to Work Day 

Hundreds of American communities have been successful in increasing bicycle commuting by providing Bike to Work Week and Bike to Work Day events.

National Bike Month includes many events in communities nationwide — but the biggest day of the month is Bike to Work Day.

Bike Classes and Rides

BTS frequently teams up with the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) and Montgomery County Commuter Services to host bike classes and rides in Downtown Bethesda. Click here for more information!
