National Bike Month

Did you know that May is National Bike Month?

In addition to Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 18, BTS has worked with partners like Silver and the Washington Area Bicyclists Association to plan other fun events that celebrate biking!

Bike to Work Day Pit Stop in Downtown Bethesda - Friday, May 18

The original and biggest Bike Month event! Join hundreds of cyclists from 6:30-8:30 a.m. on the corner of Woodmont and Bethesda Avenues for free breakfast. We will also have speakers, a DJ, a raffle with tons of prizes including a brand new bike from Griffin Cycle!

Update: If you were unable to pick up your shirt on Bike to Work Day, please stop by our office Monday-Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. We are located at 7700 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, MD.

Bike FROM Work Meet-Up - Friday, May 18

New this year!

We've decided not to limit the fun to the early morning hours anymore. We've teamed up with Silver located at 7150 Woodmont Avenue, along the Capital Crescent Trail, for a Bike FROM Work Meet-Up!

From 3:00-6:30 p.m. on Bike to Work Day, stop by Silver and bring along proof of your registration for Bike to Work Day and you'll receive a free Classic Margarita. They will also have over 30 food and drink selections at the bar and patio starting at $5 and will be raffling off three $25 Silver Gift Cards!

Bethesda Bike Ride - Thursday, May 31

Join the Washington Area Bicyclists Association for a guided bike ride! The group will be meeting at the Bethesda Metro Plaza near the BikeShare Station at 6:30 p.m (pictured to the right). The ride will end at Silver on Woodmont Avenue at 8:00 p.m.

After the ride, show your proof of registration for the Bike Ride at Silver and you will be rewarded for your hard work with a free Classic Margarita, along with Happy Hour specials on food and other drinks!

Everyone who participates in the ride will receive a free helmet and backpack, and we will be raffling off a bike donated by Marriott International, as well as three $25 Silver Gift Cards!

For the Bike Ride event, you will need to register and the cost is $10, unless you are a member of Capital Bikeshare, in which case it's free.
