Metro and Commuter Connections are also celebrating Car Free Day on September 22 by promoting the CommuterCash app.
Commuters who log a car free or car-lite (carpool/vanpool) trip into the CommuterCash app on Car Free Day will earn a commemorative Car Free Day digital badge and awarded 500 bonus CommuterCash points. All trips count, not just commute trips.
CommuterCash points can be redeemed for cash (PayPal or Venmo), Visa gift cards, or transportation benefits such as SmarTrip®, CharmPass, and Capital Bikeshare credits.
