Bicycling Classes

Bethesda has seen an increase in bicycle commuting activity. This is expected to continue because of the greater awareness of the benefits of physical fitness. Bethesda Transportation Solutions (BTS) supports bicycle commuting by providing bike racks throughout the central business district and monitoring the demand for additional facilities. BTS also distributes printed information about bicycle safety and maps of bike routes.

To support area bicycling commuters, BTS is pleased to announce their partnership with the Washington Area Bicyclist Assocation (WABA) and Montgomery County Commuter Services providing Confident City Cycling Classes in Downtown Bethesda! Look for announcements of new classes in our Commuter Solutions Newsletter and here on our website. Photos of past classes and our other events can be found here.

Confident City Cycling (CCC) classes have options for riders of any experience or skill level, and are designed to teach the techniques and knowledge critical to riding safely on city streets.

Confident City Cycling Course

Another Confident City Cycling Course is planned for Saturday, October 19 from 11 am until 2 pm at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad (5020 Battery Lane, Bethesda). Click here for more information and to register!

Riding in a skillful and safe manner is essential for bicycling commuters. The League of American Bicyclists is a great resource with the latest Tips for Commuters.
